Review of the Grass Feeding Leafhopper Genus Balclutha Kirkaldy (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae: Deltocephalinae) in China.

چکیده

The present paper treats 27 species and one species complex of the leafhopper genus Balclutha Kirkaldy from China, including descriptions of four new species, Balclutha bidentifurcata, B. parapunctata, B. paralucida and B. tricornis spp. nov., and gives six new records for China. One new synonymy, B. fuscoinaculatus Dai, Li & Chen, 2004, as a junior synonym of B. saltuella (Kirschbaum, 1868), is proposed. A key to males of Chinese Balclutha species, together with a checklist and figures for the species is provided.

Four new species of the grass feeding leafhopper genus Nicolaus Lindberg (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae: Deltocephalinae) from the Indian subcontinent.

The leafhopper genus Nicolaus Lindberg is recorded from India and Pakistan for the first time. Four new species, N. abuensis sp. nov., N. bidentatus sp. nov., N. cornutus sp. nov. and N. serratus sp. nov. are described and illustrated. N. bihamatus Xing & Li, earlier known from China is recorded from India and Pakistan. A key to the species of Nicolaus from the study area is provided.

A new genus and species, Bambusimukaria quinquepunctata gen. & sp. n., feeding on bamboo in Guizhou and Fujian, China, are described and illustrated. The characters of crown, frontoclypeus, forewing venations and male genitalia place the new genus in the tribe Mukariini.
